13th Air Force Commander visits 940th ARW

Lt. Gen. Loyd "Chip" Utterback, 13th Air Force commander, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, visited with the 940th Air Refueling Wing Sept. 29, 2008. General Utterback serves as the Joint Forces Air Component commander and, when designated, as the Commander, Air Force Forces, during operations or a contingency. He also serves as the standing Joint Task Force - Support Forces Antarctica commander for Operation Deep Freeze. During the visit, the general toured the facility that will house Detachment 2 and Det 5, 10th Air Force, as well as the 940th Operations Group and Operations Support Flight. Det 2 provides emerging missions integration; Det 5 provides component numbered air force, Air Force Forces support and continuity to 13th AF Headquarters.
